But then I was really annoyed by that, because people never will think of me as an American, but as a kid who can speak English. At first, I really liked those kind of questions, because I did came from other country and people were really surprised that I could speak English pretty good. And I myself know this feeling and I know how hurtful it can be. Author is talking about that when he started the college in other state people were always asking him when did he came to America and where did he learn to speak English. population, white Americans can’t think of them as real Americans. ![]() Even though right now Asian Americans are projected to represent 4 percent of the total U.S. The author talking about how white American population of this country thinks of Asian Americans and how they think that different races is not real Americans. And after reading just a few pages I could understand title of this book more and more. I had a great opportunity to start reading book called “Strangers from a Different Shore” by Ronald Takaki. ![]()
